This note will be brief.
Fan Appreciation Night started with Sue Farah bringing a bottle of wine to a game 7 years with a plate of cheese and crackers for a couple of the other wives.
My how we've grown!!!
The pictures will do the talking for last night's event, but first some much needed thank you's and prize announcements.
Dave Polny has been all over this from the beginning. Not only did he supply amazing food for us (great feed back on the wraps from what I heard) but he also supplied the gift certificate prizes! Fantastic. You have a question? Dave's answer is "what else do you need?" Thanks David!
This event had been booked for quite a while and we had long since said that it was happening rain or shine, the games weren't important, the event was. My Tuesday field maintenance colleagues Dave Fleming and Al Bales would have none of that. They, with the help of Paul Gyori, Geoff Keogh, Larry Turner and Dan Chiasson got the fields into playable shape. Thanks gents.
Obviously, this event doesn't happen without significant planning and prep work. Thanks to Susan Farah, Michelle Farah, Rob Farah and Megan Dwyer for all their work
Thank you Jaida Dunne and Courtney Clarke for donating their time to get the pictures that you'll see posted here. And to Carley Doyle who swept up the Pavilion for us and kept things tidy.
To Karen Junkin, Andy Keogh and Susan Farah for all the hard work behind the bar!
Thanks to Steve Ross who supported this event from before the first pitch was thrown this season and has been encouraging us throughout.
To Jeff Dancey and Ed Hopkins who donated the prizes of mens and womens Help The Kids Play golf shirts.
To Dave Fleming who contributed wine and beer to the event.
To Chuck Cragg and Steve Black who contributed wine
To Paul Piellusch and Al Bales who contributed wine.
To Tottenham Foodland who kindly donated soft drinks and water.
To Dayne Polny who in addition to being a league sponsor, donated his DJ'ing services and sound equipment to this event. That really set the environment for us!
Rob and I were completely bowled over by Peter Hayward who showed up with signs for the Justin Keogh Fund and for the Grisslies. A genuine act of kindness that was completely unexpected. Thanks Pete.

Afinal note.... the sponsors for food, drinks, services and prizes were fantastic! What their contributions did was ensure that we maximized the contribution to the Justin Keogh Fund. Knowing that not a penny of our expenses were taken from the fundraising efforts was about the best part of the night for me.
Pics!
Of all the wonderful emails and Facebook posts in the last 12 hours (and there has been many) I think Karen Turner captured my feelings best with, "It pours, threatening to cancel another 4 games, but a bunch of guys pitch in to drain the diamonds and thumb their nose at Mother Nature.... this is my community and this is why I love it so much!!"
Karen, who has worked hard on her own fund raising, is representative of her own statement. We don't say "no". We don't waver. We try our best to do what's right and we aren't too shy to rally the troops. Like Karen, this is my community and this is why I too love it so much!!
