Boring!!!!!
The Joints destroyed the Grisslies and had a 15 run lead on the Beer Bros. in the 7th to defend the Beer Cup two more times this week.
They have 3 games left, the Dusty Cleats, Dodge City Rounders and Blues Brothers. Here's all the possible scenarios with 7 teams, namely The Joints, Dusty Cleats, Hot Tub Woody's, Dodge City Rounders, Blues Brothers, Gruesome Devils and Dog Catchers, still having a chance to walk away with the prize!
IF: The Joints run the table they win it (obviously)
IF: The Cleats beat the Joints they will play the Brew Jays on August 27th with winner of that game winning the inaugural Beer Cup.
IF: The Dodge City Rounders beat the Joints, Dodge will play the Hot Tub Woody's on August 27th. If the Woody's win, they'll win the inaugural Beer Cup.
IF: The Dodge City Rounders beat the Joints and the Woody's, they will play the Blues Brothers on September 3rd with the winner of that game winning the inaugural Beer Cup.
IF: The Blues Brothers beat the Joints, they will play the Gruesome Devils on August 29th. If the Gruesome Devils win they will win the inaugural Beer Cup.
IF: The Blues Brothers beat the Joints and Devils they will play the Dog Catchers on September 3rd. If the Dog Catchers win they will win the inaugural Beer Cup.
IF: The Blues Brothers beat the Joints and Devils and Catchers, they will play Dodge City on September 3rd. The winner of that game will win the inaugural Beer Cup.

League Tid-Bits
- In the Red Dogs convincing victory over the Hurtin' Units on Monday night, Peter Holmann was 5 for 5 with 4 runs scored. A good night, no doubt. But add to it hitting for cycle AND a grand slam and you have a night to remember. Way to go Pete!
- In the Dislocated destruction of the Grisslies on Monday, Terry Doucet and Roger Burton joined a select group going 6 for 6 with 6 runs scored. This rare feat has now been accomplished by four men, Doucet, Burton, Keogh and Peters. However Scott Peters can claim that he's the only one to do it against someone other than the Grisslies.
- Staying with the Grisslie game, Down Town Billy Brown had a triple in this affair. A Bill Brown triple has replaced the Kentucky Derby as the most exciting 2 minutes in sports.
- Stats were lagging behind this week due to tournament commitments. That bugs me. It appears to bug a lot of others as the BLOG hits were off the charts. When things aren't posted when people expect they keep coming back. 1,113 times Tuesday, 719 time Wednesday, 816 times Thursday. That push caused by failure has pushed hits ahead of last years ridiculous pace of 55,000 for the season.
- The list of players who have hit in every game only changed by one this week. Scott Peters dropped of the list leaving us at 13. Here are those left:
- Beer Bros. (1): Fleming
- Blues Brothers (2): Clark, Mason
- Brew Jays (1): McCullough
- Dislocated Joints (3): Moon, Burton, Doucet
- Dodge City Rounders (0):
- Dog Catchers (1): Young
- Dusty Cleats (1): Hollingshead
- Grisslies (0):
- Draft Kings (1): Stike
- Gruesome Devils (2): Richards, Basso
- Hot Tub Woody's (1): Goodin
- Hurtin' Units (0):
- Red Dogs (0):
- Rusty Rebels (0):
- Tap Masters (0):
Team
UPDATE: These stats do not include the player stats from the Rusty Rebels Vs. Hurtin' Units game. I won't be updating that until next week as we had a bad hand off with the game sheet. As far as the Team data goes, Wins, losses, Scores; we're all good. The player data will be caught up next week. Thanks.
These will be a little quick and dirty....
How each team finished the 1st and how that measures against their current position in the overall standings. Gruesome Devils? Not so good lately. The rest of the top 5 from the first 12 games of the year are holding steady.
And a slightly different view. This is how everyone has played since game 12 and how that measures against the current overall standings. The Draft Kings have had the strongest second half (with the Dog Catchers and Joints right on their tails) while the Red Dogs and Grisslies remain models of consistency.
This is the regular league standings that you see on the website, with the last column (Max Pts) added in. That simply tells you the most number of points can acquire by year end if they win out. So the Cleats for example with a max potential of 23 can still catch everyone with 22 points or less.
And here is the boxed view of potential finishes. You'll notice that the Grisslies and Red Dogs both clinched this week! Congratulations! Last week at this time we had 167 different landing opportunities for clubs. After 12 games this week 47 possibilities have been eliminated and we're now down to 120 different finish scenarios. Incidentally, there are some repeating initials of teams. DogC = Dog Catchers; DC = Dusty Cleats; B.Bros = Beer Bros.; BB = Blues Brothers.
The last team stat which proves what? The Joints have Jennings, Moon, Rose and Kahuna who can score a bunch on hit; as do the Hurtin' Units with Chiasson, Glecoff, Cudnik and the captain formerly known as Magnificent Mike Olliffe. Then you see the Grisslies at the bottom with the power threat of me and Glen Tinkler and I think you can see the disparity.
PLAYER STATS
Well, Terry had an awesome week going 10 for 11 but only was able to chop .020 off of Scott's still very commanding lead. These two remain our only over .800 players.
Bear in mind that I don't have the stats yet for the Rebels Vs. Units game, so this might not be 100% accurate. However, if you want to know why the Joints are hot, look no further than Kahuna and Doucet. They can't seem to miss right now.
Talk about your "GOOD WEEKS". WoW. Not only do we have a new record for runs in a season, Terry has already shattered it by 15% and has 3 games left to play. Brian and Lahey have 4 remaining, but Terry looks uncatchable to me.
Surprised? Me neither. So Scott Peters sets a record for runs in a quarter and it may last for a quarter. Terry is on pace for 26 in this six game stretch.
Sick.
It looks like lots of guys will break 100 and also pass last years high water mark of 104. Many of the usual suspects on this list.
Again...no surprise. The Dog Catchers have a game in hand on the Joints so a 1, 2, 3 - Joints finish is not very likely.
A massive 6/6 for Mr. Slipetz resulted in a HUGE jump in this category. Not over yet, but the work is cut out for the other 4 rookies over .700.
Our Sophomore race is crazy competitive! Brad is hanging on, but Emeil and Will are all over him. There aren't too many people hotter than Holmann right now. However, he may have too many at bats and only 3 games left .... might be too late.
I'm nothing but impressed with this group of players. Fantastic season all!
Things you may have missed this week.
