Entering Week 14

So last week I took my first crack at predicting the results of the coming week's games.  It didn't go very well.  I got 4 right and 8 wrong.  In poker its called a tilt, but everywhere its called a losing streak.  But like every Vegas gambler, I'll try again.

Current record:  4-8

Hurtin' Units vs Hot Tub Woody's - Units get back to bashing and break the 2 game slide
Dog Catchers vs Dusty Cleats - No Pully this week equals trouble for the Cleats
Draft Kings vs Gruesome Devils - Draft Kings recover from last weeks loss
Grisslies vs Rusty Rebels - Grisslies will take a few games to adjust to a revamped infield
Master Batters vs Dodge City Rounders - Can't bet against 'hot' and the MB's are hot.
Dodge City Rounders vs Sliders - No Beechey but still lots of fire power on this squad
Master Batters vs Tap Masters - The Batters get redemption on an early season loss to the Taps
Rusty Rebels vs. Sons of Pitches - SOP finished last season with a long winning streak, I feel another one in the offing.
Hurtin' Units vs. Beer Bros. - This game could end 35-34.
Dog Catchers vs. Tap Masters - The hits keep on coming.

The list of perfect batting stats from last week is a short one:  Congrats especially to Mr. Candy who managed his while recovering from a nasty ball to the chops the week before.

Our list of guys who have hit in every game of the season is down to 29!   Its pretty amazing that 14 weeks into the season that we still have 17% of our league alive in this category.  I think we lose one for sure this week with The Beechey on vacation, we'll see who else can survive.

And big ups to Anicete Goncalves who is now the last man standing to have scored in every game!  42 runs over 18 game, that's awesome and wickedly consistent!  Good luck in running the table for the rest of the season Ani!!!

Your most improved batters from last years stats to this:

"For Those About To Rock" Bill Sallustio and Brian Richards are still the run away leaders in this category.  But interesting to see Lou Conforti on this list!  Can Most Improved be won twice by the same guy?

Batting leaders in the 1st half of the season:

Top 25, or as I like to call it, "where .931 just ain't good enough".  FFS.

Total at bats or the "master batters roster"

Well holy crap.  Being on a list is rare for me.  Leading?  Please!  Its never happened until today.  (I don't even care that I have games in hand, I'm enjoying this).  I'm hoping Cam keeps up something close to the crazy pace he's on.  He could lead EVERYTHING and he is simply crushing the ball.

Atta boy Whale!  You're playing with the big kids now!

Your batting leaders for the year to date.

As seen on the TOT website.

Scott had a fantastic 10/10 week, but didn't get much separation from Cam.  Two very different and two very successful hitters.  Unless both of these guys collapse, which I just don't see happening, this is going to be a two horse race right down to the wire.

Good luck!

The Master Batters might finish with the top 5 in this category.  This is actually a lot closer than it appears.  The MB's have played an extra game than the Grisslies, SOP and Dog Catchers and 2 more games than the Sliders or Dodge City.  When the games even out, this is going to really tighten up.

If you had any doubt, Scott is back with a vengeance.  However, 2nd place is wide open on total hits and that's kind of a big deal too. 2nd thru 9th place are separated by only 4 hits.

Could be some movement at the top this week with The Beechey off.  Good to see Jerry back at the top of this list.   Scott, Anicete, Cameron, Chris and Brian seem to be on every list.
