Entering Week 11

Week 11?

Didn't we just start?

So week 11's shitty schedule award goes to:

Hot Tub Woody's:  They play 8:15 Tuesday against the Dog Catchers and then 9:30 Wednesday against Grisslies.  A late and later game.  That sucks.
Draft Kings:  8:15 Monday against the Grisslies followed by 7:00pm Tuesday against Dodge.  That's a lot of beer.

The schedule maker was terrible this year.

Just looking at some must see games this week.  Dodge and Draft Kings could be really interesting, I think I'll check that one out.  The two other games that I'll get ticket for might not be on your radar.  I like the Tap Master vs Sons Of Pitches and Dusty Cleats vs Gruesome Devils.

So why these 2 games?

Well I'll be honest, I don't know what the hell to make of the Tap Masters or Gruesome Devils.  Both squads have had good runs in recent years, maybe they're just due for a down year.  Maybe.  But the Sons of Pitchers and Dusty Cleats?  I had these guys in my top 6.  They've show spurts, but need to find a groove.

These teams collectively are in 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th place.  The two that lose will still make the playoffs.  The two that win will be poised to move up the standings and maybe get a little separation.
You should hit some games.  Tickets are cheap.

If you would have come last week you would have seen the best Wednesday night of ball I've seen in this town.  It started with the Hurtin' Units beating the Master Batters 4-3.  That was followed by the Beer Bros. beating the Grisslies 6-5.  The final game was the sliders over the Cleats 17-16, not quite as defensive oriented but still awfully close.

So six teams combined to average 8.5 runs per team without the Draft Kings playing.  Pretty impressive.

But that's not all you missed, you would have missed:

Bo Niederhuber's twisting over the shoulder catch.

Andy Gee pitching with a mask.

Skippy in the outfield holding the ball and daring Pendlebury to race him to 3rd base (Neil was on 2nd)
And the most magic moment of all....

Ground ball by Henry Lukassen to short, funnel to Lenny at second who turns and fires a strike to 1st.  Sadly, the 1st baseman was spelling  his name in the dirt with his toe and was about 6 full strides from the bad.  Sadly Len threw the best ball I've ever seen him throw.  Sady, Henry and the ball arrive at the bag at the same time drilling him in the shoulder.

As it turned out, good comedy.  You never know what you're going to get.
